  • Project Period :- 19 month

  • Donor:- CSSP (Civil society Support Program)
  • Target group of the Actions:- 
    • Direct: 30,296 beneficiaries from which 7,200 beneficiaries are from Fuga community members in Gibe Woreda.
    • Indirect: 50,000 community and 25,000 Fuga community members in Hadiyya zone
  • Program Impacts:- Improved wellbeing and access to appropriate services of Fuga community.
  • Project Outcomes. 
    • Improved access to alternative routes of income and sustainable livelihoods.
    • Improved access to quality education
    • Health status of Fuga community improved..
    • Implementing partners and community level systems and structures strengthened to intervene on marginalization.
    • Social marginalization reduced among the Welabs/mainstreaming community. 
    • Promote and experiment evidence based engagement/interventions among the marginalized community groups.
  • Note: Contextual definition of ‘access’ for this specific project is related to breaking barriers to services and empowerments.

  • Project Status:– Closed
  • Project Location:-  Hadiya Zone in SNNPR
    • Project Period :-  12 months

  • Title of the project:- Awareness raising and promoting access to land ownership and public services for the marginalized Fuga community women in Hadiyya Zone of SNNP
  • Project Status:- Closed 
  • Project Location:-  Hadiya Zone in SNNPR
  •  Project Period :- 24 month 
  • Value of the Project:-  1,676,724.00 ETB
  • Donor:- KIOS 
  • Target group of the Actions:-  480 Fuga community women; 200 men Fuga community representatives ; 30 members from the leadership of Harotessa Association Ethiopia (Fuga community self-help association); 250 participants from concerned local government offices that would contribute for the improvement of the situation Fuga beggar women and children including rural land administration office, justice offices, education office, health office, water and sanitation  office, women and childern office, social affairs office of Hadiyya zone; 80 partcipants from Hadiyya Zone Secondary schools gender club students and teachers; 150 participants from traditional system of local governance in Hadiyya; 100 participants from religious institutions in Hadiyya and 150 participants from local community based instituions or iddirs. The indirect beneficiaries of this project will be whole community of the project area
  • Objective and Goal of the project 
    • Goal of the project: – The goal of this project was to contribute to the ongoing efforts in the nation towards eradicating poverty through enhancing the potentials and contributions of women from Fuga marginalized community in local development initiatives.
    • Specific Objectives of the projects were:-  
  1. To generate baseline data on socio-economic situation of Fuga community in Hadiyya zone
  2. To raise awareness of local people in Hadiyya zone against the marginalization and disadvantage of Fuga community
  3. To enhance advocacy capacity of Harotessa Association Ethiopia (Fuga community self-help association) against marginalization and disadvantage
  4. To promote opportunity of accessing land ownership and particularly clay soil for Fuga community women in Hadiyya zone
  5. To promote Fuga women access to government provided public service packages including adult and lifelong learning packages, health packages, family planning packages, and hygiene and sanitation packages.
  6. To contribute for the establishment of safe and Fuga children friendly school environment in Hadiyya zone
