Creating an Enabling Environment for Sustainable Human Development by Strengthening Traditional System of Local Governance by injecting Modern Democratic Working Principles so that the People will be able to contribute to the alleviation of the country and respect Human and Democratic Rights.  

Objectives

Objectives of the APeD

• Citizen rights to participate in governance and decision-making at all level of the societies.
• A woman’s right to life, integrity and security of the person, including the elimination of harmful traditional practices.
• The inherent right to life and the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion.  
• Enhance civic education for local communities to play their roles in issues of good governance at local and national level.
• Enhance capacity and participation of communities in peace building and conflict resolution.  
• Promote conflict prevention and early warning system.
• Environment and climate change as crosscutting issue.
